CHICAGO FIGURAL SCULPTURE
A Chronological Portrait 1871-1923
This is the First Volume of a collection of photography designed to document the scope, chronology, and sometimes astonishing beautty of downtown Chicago's extant Figural Sculpture. 150 years of stylistic development separate the pre-fire angels at the altar of St. James' from the Crowne Fountain at MIllenium Park. Still proximity makes them part of a body of work. Chronology marks their place. Location has shaped their reason. Above all, they remain an artist's gift.
